Overseas Old Dovorian Groups

The Old Dovorian Club’s links to former pupils and members of staff, can be seen from the founding of the Club back in 1887, with Old Dovorians who’s parents where either posted abroad with the armed forces or diplomatic core in particular, who sent their children back to England to be educated.

However, it was not until 1958 that the then Headmaster of the College, Mr. A.D.C Peterson, made one very significant and innovative change to the College by opening up an International Faculty within the College, which has subsequently developed by his successor as Headmaster Mr. T. Cobb who maintained those strong international links which are still part of the College’s DNA.

As a result, the Club has also developed and maintained its links with those Old Dovorians who come from and settled overseas, by establish local Old Dovorian Club satellites, which are run by local OD’s as independent groups within the Old Dovorian Club community to organize informal events with other Old Dovorians, be a centre point of contact for all OD’s who are either visiting the locality or have just moved to the area, all united by the unique bond of being educated at Dover College.
