Old Dovorian Lodge Meeting, 5th October 2021
After nearly 18 months of none or limited masonic meetings and activity due to the Pandemic, and suspensions from The United Grand Lodge of England, the Old Dovorian Lodge were finally able to meet “face to face” at Freemasons Hall in London.
At this meeting the Lodge performed a “Passing ” Ceremony for the lodges newest members, Bro Edward Lewis (S79 – 81), Bro Phillip Abraham (S66 – 71) and Robert Winstanley, (S66 -71), which had been delayed for over a year due to the pandemic restrictions that had been in place hear in the UK.
Also the lodge cleared a lot of administration, which included the donation to the Masters List (W.Bro Sqd Ldr (Retired) Budgie Sargent ) of £ 1,100 from the Lodges relief chest, in addition of the £1400 from the Lord Cornwallis Masonic Trust of East Kent, which was given to the Dover smART project to help obtain IT equipment to help and support young cares education during the pandemic.
After the meeting the members of the lodge then retired for a traditional masonic “Festive Board”, which included a Champagne Reception, and three course meal, after which all retired to either a “night cap” at a local hostelry, or made there way home.
