Old Dovorian Club Day including the OD Club AGM –

25 July, 2021

Old Dovorian Club 2021 Annual AGM and Cricket Match

The Old Dovorian Club 2021 AGM Sunday 25th July 2021 at Dover College

Dear Old Dovorian

This year, due to the COVID pandemic, the days events will be a little different than in previous years.

It clearly states in the Rules of the OD Club, we can only hold an AGM at Dover College.

It was for this reason that we did not hold one in 2020 due to the pandemic, and HM Government restrictions, which ere, and have been in place since the end of March 2020 in various forms.

At last we can see the “light at the end of the tunnel”, and subject to any major changes to the Government’s “Road Map” and with the kind permission of the Headmaster, the Club will be able to hold not only the OD Club’s AGM, at which the OD Club will be electing Mrs Margo Mayhew (nee Jones) D76 81.

Margo will become the first Lady President of the Old Dovorian Club in its 134 year history.

After the AGM, there will be a buffet lunch at Maxton, followed by a cricket match between a President’s XI and a Chairman’s XI,  which all OD’s, their family and friends will be most welcome.

It is hoped that we can make this into an annual event, with a view, if successful will become a “Highlight” event along with the London Cocktail Party in London at the beginning of the year.

This, also fits in with the feedback the OD Club has received from our recent surveys of the OD Club membership.

The day’s events are as follows **

  • Arrive at Dover College for OD Club AGM. 10.30 hrs Coffee
  • AGM starts. 11.00 hrs
  • AGM finished by. 12.00 hrs
  • Buffet Lunch at Maxton. 12.30 to 13.30 hrs
  • Cricket match starts. 14.00 hrs
  • Afternoon Tea (in between Innings). 15.45 – 16.15 hrs
  • Cricket match scheduled finish and end of match presentation. 18.00 hrs

I hope to meet and see as many Old Dovorians as possible at the AGM, and then afterwards, together with their family and friends at Maxton for the cricket match.

Best wishes

Robert

If you could also confirm what you like to do, (bat, bowl, or keep wicket), it would be appreciated, so when Rupert Hill, Joey Woods (Capt. of the President’s XI and Matthew Jay (Capt. of the Chairman’s XI) sit down to make the teams up, they are able to put together two balanced sides.
